Abstract:: Guernsey A. Hallowell (1867-1944) was a local businessman and historian in Frankford, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Hallowell was active in the Historical Society of Frankford, and wrote Frankford: Direction of a Greater Philadelphia with Thomas Creighton. The Guernsey Hallowell photograph collection, circa 1875-1925, consists of 260 photographs, primarily of Frankford, Bridesburg, Holmesburg, and other Northeast Philadelphia area buildings, landscapes, and street scenes.

He was also a member of the Historical Society of Frankford. The Lincoln Cartledge photograph collection, circa 1900-1925, consists of 144 early twentieth-century photographs primarily depicting Pennypack Creek area landscapes, but also many buildings and other sites in the Northeast Philadelphia area.
