Abstract:
Estelle Harrop Cremers (1925-2010) was active in historic preservation, especially in Chester County, Pennsylvania, from the 1970s to the 2000s. Cremers served on boards and commissions of local historical organizations, helped develop the French and Pickering Creek Trust, worked as the coordinator for the Chester County Comprehensive Historic Sites Survey, researched and wrote nominations for inclusion on the National Register of Historic Places, free-lanced as a historic property and land researcher, and wrote five books on local townships. Estelle Cremers papers, circa 1982-2008, consist primarily of research materials accumulated or created by Cremers that relate to Chester County locations, properties, businesses, people, and other history related topics. Some of the research in the collection relates to locations in Montgomery, Berks, Lancaster, and other Pennsylvania counties. There is also some correspondence and other non-research related materials in the collection.

Highlands Historical Society photograph collection, circa 1900-2005

Abstract:
The Highlands Mansion was originally built for Anthony Morris (1766-1860), a lawyer and politician who served as speaker of the Pennsylvania Senate from 1793-1794. The estate was occupied by the Sheaff family from 1813-1917, when it was sold to the Sinkler family. The Sinkler family donated the remaining estate to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which took ownership in 1970, and it is now administered by the non-profit Highlands Historical Society. The Highlands Historical Society photograph collection, circa 1900-2005, includes photographs taken or collected by the Highlands Historical Society. The vast majority depict the Highlands building and grounds in the 1970s and 1980s, but there are a few photographs from the Sinkler-Roosevelt era, as well as some photographs from the 1990s.

Abstract:
John James Audubon (1785-1851) was a French-American ornithologist, naturalist, and painter known for his The Birds of North America. Mill Grove, the first home of John James Audubon in America, was sold to Montgomery County in 1951 and turned into a museum. The John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove collection, 1726-2002, contains miscellaneous photographs, pamphlets, documents, scrapbooks, and other materials relating to the Mill Grove Audubon Center, the Audubon Society, the property at Mill Grove before and after Audbudon occupancy, and the Audubon family.

Eleanor Morris papers on the Mill at Anselma, 1971-1999 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Eleanor May Morris (1919-2011) was an advocate for conservation of open space and farm land and preservation of historic buildings in Chester County, Pennsylvania. In 1967, she co-founded with her husband the French and Pickering Creeks Conservation Trust (FPCCT) and served as its president for thirty years. She was also a founding member of the Mill at Anselma Preservation and Educational Trust (MAAPET). The Eleanor Morris papers on the Mill at Anselma, 1971-1999, consist of records from FPCCT and MAAPET from Eleanor Morris' home office. The files relate to the Anselma Mill, including FPCCT's acquisition of its property and buildings in the early 1980s, the establishment of Mill at Anselma as an historic site, and the formation of MAAPET in 1998.

Mary H. Wood Park Commission records, 1917-1999 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Mary H. Wood (1841-1919) was the wife of steel magnate and U.S. Congressman Alan Wood, Jr. (1834-1902). As per her will, after her death, their home and grounds in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania were donated to the Borough of Conshohocken for use as a public park and community center. The Mary H. Wood Park Commission records, 1917-1999, is comprised of meeting minutes, correspondence, pamphlets relating to park equipment and maintenance, and records of the various clubs which utilize the facility.

The Highlands Historical Society architectural drawings collection, 1917-1999, consists of blueprints and architectural drawings of The Highlands estate and grounds. The bulk of the collection is of the landscape/grounds of the property, and the vast majority were commissioned by the Highlands Historical Society, although some were commissioned by the Sinkler/Roosevelt family.
