Abstract:
In 1923, C. N. Agnew founded a real estate business to sell and appraise real estate on the Main Line of Philadelphia. As of 2014, the firm he established continues to operate from its office at 103 North Wayne Ave. in Wayne, Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The C. N. Agnew, Realtor, Inc. records, 1903-2000 (bulk 1965-2000), consist of annotated Main Line Board of Realtors listing cards and C. N. Agnew, Realtor, Inc. files on properties. The files on properties include inspection forms, appraisals, correspondence, contracts, copies of checks, newspaper clippings, photographs of the property, deeds, and other materials associated with the sale of real estate.

Abstract:
Henrietta Cozens (fl. 1900-1930s) was a horticulturalist and a friend of the artists Elizabeth Shippen Green Elliott (1872-1954), Violet Oakley (1874-1961), and Jessie Willcox Smith (1863-1935). In 1902, the three artists held their first group exhibition at the Plastic Club, a professional organization for women artists on Camac Street in Philadelphia. After their experience renting studio space at Bryn Mawr College to escape the summer heat of the city, they decided in 1902 to lease the Red Rose Inn in Villanova, where they lived and worked until 1906. The collection consists of correspondence, art, photographs, papers, and other miscellaneous materials.

Abstract:
Radnor Township in Delaware County, Pennsylvania was founded in 1682, shortly after Welsh Quakers arrived on the lands previously home to the original inhabitants, the Lenni Lenape Indians. Development in the area increased when new transportation routes passed through the area, first the Lancaster Turnpike (the first toll road in America) in 1794, and then the Columbia (later Pennsylvania) Railroad in 1832. The township's population doubled between 1880 and 1890 with the birth of one of the country's first planned suburban developments, Wayne. Development and population boomed again in the wake of World War II and has continued to grow in the 21st century. The Radnor Historical Society subject files, circa 1860-2014, contain a general subject file with separate series for Streets, Estates, and Genealogy. The township of Lower Merion in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania was first settled by Welsh Quakers in 1682. It is part of the "Main Line," a collection of affluent Philadelphia suburbs located alongside the Pennsylvania Railroad line that was built between Philadelphia and Harrisburg in the mid-19th century. The Main Line Country Houses Collection, circa 1900-2003, consists of over 800 photographs and fact sheets on over 150 properties. The materials were collected by William Alan Morrison for his 2002 book The Main Line: Country Houses of Philadelphia's Storied Suburb, 1870-1930.

By some accounts, the Boy Scout troop in Bala, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania is the oldest in the country. Formed in 1908, it was officially inducted into the Boy Scouts of America in 1911 as Troop 16. Troop Bala One photographs, 1941-1998, depict the troop at various events, primarily the 50th anniversary celebration in 1961. The collection also includes photocopies of Boy Scout ephemera.

The township of Lower Merion in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania was first settled by Welsh Quakers in 1682. It is part of the "Main Line," a collection of affluent Philadelphia suburbs located alongside the Pennsylvania Railroad line that was built between Philadelphia and Harrisburg in the mid-19th century. "The First 300" photograph collection, 1890-2000, is composed of photographs (mostly reproductions with some originals) that were used in the Lower Merion Historical Society's published book The First 300: The Amazing and Rich History of Lower Merion. There are also some photocopies of secondary source materials that were used in researching the book.

Dr. Douglas Macfarlan (1887-1966) was a resident of Ardmore, Pennsylvania, and a physician. He was also an avid local historian who served as president of the Lower Merion Historical Society, and contributed articles and drawings to Main Line Times in addition to publishing several historical monographs. The Notes and Drawings by Dr. Douglas Macfarlan, 1937-1964, consist of research notes, newspaper clippings, copies of articles, and original and copied photographs for various historical monographs by Macfarlan.

At the turn of the 20th century, the Roberts family of Lower Merion, Pennsylvania decided to consolidate its remaining farm land and form the Lower Merion Realty Company. The company successfully developed land along a new train line, conveniently constructed under the direction of Pennsylvania Railroad president George Brooke Roberts. The collection "Lower Merion Realty Company minute book, photographs, and brochures, circa 1880-1952," contains the minute book of meetings of Stockholders and Directors, 1906-1952, and one binder of photographs with two brochures.
