Abstract:: Organized in November 1895 and federated the following year, the Newtown New Century Club was a literary club that was also involved in civic affairs and community service. The Newtown New Century Club records, 1895-1980, document over 80 years of the Club's history through minute books, treasurer's books, financial and legal papers, officer lists, scrapbooks, correspondence, and programs and ephemera.

Abstract:: Newtown, the county seat of Bucks County from 1726 to 1813, is one of the most historic areas in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. The Newtown Historic Association collection on Newtown anniversaries, circa 1959, circa 1976, circa 1984, and circa 2009, consists largely of materials relating to productions of "Sweet Land," a play about Newtown history, that was performed for Newtown's 275th, 300th, and 325th anniversary celebrations. The collection also documents other aspects of anniversary celebrations with materials such as correspondence, planning documents, financial papers, ephemera, and scrapbooks. Materials relating to "Voices of Newtown," an oral history project conducted for the town's 300th anniversary, are also included.

Abstract:: A.W. and W.M. Watson Lumber Company was founded in Newtown, Bucks County, Pennsylvania in 1872. The company was acquired by Frost Lumber in 1953 and became Frost-Watson Lumber Corporation. The A.W. and W.M. Watson Company mill work order forms, 1918-2003 (bulk 1918-1922), consist of two large volumes of mill work order forms, 1918-1922, as well as several items of ephemera.

Abstract:: Charles Savidge (1835-1908) married Sarah Hutchinson Morris (1864-1914), with whom he had two children: Morris Savidge (1895-1979) and Clarence Savidge (1900-1986). The family lived in Newtown (Bucks County, Pennsylvania), where they owned and operated Savidge Brothers retail store for over a century. The Savidge family papers, circa 1875-1970, consist mostly of personal papers, particularly relating to Morris and Clarence. The collection includes letters from Morris to his brother while the former was in military training and active duty in France during World War I as well as related photographs. Other materials in the collection include an album of funeral cards and calling cards/invitations, family photo albums, and some correspondence, financial papers, and ephemera relating to other family members.
