The League of Women Voters (LWV) was established in 1919 to help educate women on the civic responsibilities of voting. The Abington-Cheltenham-Jenkintown branch, still active as of 2013, was established in 1951 and expanded in 1959. The Danenhower family at one time operated a mill on Pennypack Creek and were long-time residents of the Abington area in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The Danenhower family papers, 1866-1973, consist primarily of Eva C. Danenhower Davis diaries, 1967-1973, that record her daily activities while living in Gulfport, Mississippi, and in Philadelphia. Other family records include two autograph albums and a scrapbook.
