Also included are the testimony of Robert Barrow at George Fox's burial, the prayer of Nicholas Waln, James Simpson's sermon, a timeline of discoveries and settlements in the United States, a warning to the people called Quakers, and a letter to parents who have the care of youth in the Society of Friends.

Abstract:: Primarily the letters of the interconnected Philadelphia-area Quaker families, Allen and Roberts, in the period 1846-1931. The a large potrion of letters were are from Sarah H. Roberts Allen, Susan Janney Allen, and Lillie Allen, as well as Lizzie Roberts, though there are a considerable number from Samuel Allen, inventor of some agricultural tools as well as the "flexible flyer" sled.

"Essays in Prose and Verse", 1840-1844 (inclusive)

Abstract:: According to the note on the inside cover of "Essays in Prose and Verse," the essays and poetry inside were written by Samuel Morris when he was 13, and again later when he was a student at Haverford College in 1843. This volume is a copy of the original, and is copied by Beulah S. Morris, who wrote this copy as a gift for her father, on his 55th birthday, in 1846. The volume is largely comprised of poetry, but also includes short stories and personal essays related to family, nature, travel, and religion.

Joshua L. Baily account book, 1794-1915 (inclusive)

Extent:: 0.13 linear ft. (1 volume)
Abstract:: This volume was originally used as an account book, from 1794 to 1795, and was later repurposed as a diary or timeline of events, dated from 1826 to 1915. The section of the volume that acts as an account book includes an index, in which individuals are organized alphabetically, and entries record amounts paid or owned, the goods purchased, and the currency used. Goods listed are mainly dry goods and lumber, including: flour, "middling" (bulk goods of medium grade), hog feed, cornmeal, buckwheat, rye meal, and wooden boards. The second section of the volume acts as a timeline and diary for Joshua L. Baily. Included are entries concerning current events, such as terms of various presidents, the Orthodox-Hicksite separation, the emergence of the "Mormons" and their migration west, records of correspondence sent and received, and events in the Civil War and World War I.

Israel Howell Birdsall account book, 1810-1819 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Entries in the account book of Israel Howell Birdsall record amounts paid or owed, goods purchased, and currency used. Majority of entries include the purchase and sale of: oil, oil meal (used as food for livestock), flax seed, plaster, beans, apples, and butter. The volume includes an index, in which individuals are organized alphabetically.
