Abstract:: The Dana Richardson collection of Constant Vauclain material contains sheet music, audio cassettes, essays, notes and analysis of music, correspondence, newspaper clippings, event programs, photographs, poetry and lyrics. Andre Constant Vauclain (1908-2003) was a composer and professor of music who developed a new system of composition that he called, "syntonality." Dana Dimitri Richardson (1953-), is a composer and music theorist who studied under Constant Vauclain from 1971 to 1976.

Abstract:: John Szwed (1396-) is an American anthropologist and jazz scholar who wrote a biography of Sun Ra. Sun Ra (1914-1993) was an American musician, jazz composer, and bandleader known for experimental music and theatrical performances. The John Szwed collection of Sun Ra material measures 4.25 linear feet and dates from 1935 to 2018. It includes material related to Szwed's biography of Sun Ra, Space is the Place: The Lives and Times of Sun Ra and research on Sun Ra documenting his life, band, and music.

Abstract:: Holly McGhee is New York City-based author, agent, editor, and founder of the children's literature agency, Pippin Properties, Inc. The Holly McGhee papers measure 5.2 linear feet in eight boxes and date from 1947 to 2020, with the bulk of the material dating between 1979 and 2018. The papers largely document McGhee's personal life, family, writings as a children's book author, and early career in publishing. Her work with Pippin Properties, Inc. is represented in the Pippin Properties, Inc. records, also held by the Kislak Center.

Joanna Banks assembled a collection of materials around these themes that includes periodical articles, academic papers, newspaper clippings, photocopies, newsletters, catalogs, recipes, bibliographies, photographs, and ephemera.

Abstract:: Jeoffry B. Gordon (born 1942) is a retired physician who primarily worked in California. His specialties included family medicine, public health and general preventive medicine, and medical toxicology. This collection documents, to a limited degree, Jeoffry B. Gordon's involvement as a medical activist in the late 1960s and early 1970s, especially in the Student Health Organization (SHO) and the Medical Committee for Human Rights (MCHR). While documentation of Gordon's immediate involvement is limited, the collection provides a glimpse into the world of medical activsm, more broadly, during this time period, through publications, newspaper clippings, journal articles, and newsletters.
