Abstract:
This collection contains some papers of the esteemed American dentist Newell Sill Jenkins (1840-1919) who practiced for most of his career in Dresden, Germany and popularized the use of porcelain tooth enamel. A small booklet with notes on Jenkins' experiments with dental cement is included in the collection, along with a large album presented to him on his seventieth birthday by a cohort of American dentists. There are also a few miscellaneous photographs and pages of notes in this collection, as well as a menu from a dinner held in Jenkins' honor.

Abstract:
Robert H. Nones (1864-1936) was professor of prosthetic dentistry, dental metallurgy, crown and bridge work, and clinical dentistry at the Medico-Chirurgical College of Philadelphia and served as the dean of the Department of Dentistry at the college from 1898 to 1906. His papers include lecture notes, his thesis, and a scrapbook documenting the Stomatological Club of Philadelphia.

LeRoy M. Ennis collection of Japanese dentistry material, 1932-1951 (inclusive)

Abstract:
LeRoy M. Ennis (1893-1978) was a dentist and a professor at the University of Pennsylvania focusing on the study of roentgenology (radiation) and oral surgery. In 1951, he was a member of the United States Dental Commission which visited Osaka Dental College in Japan, an effort to aid dentists in that country. This collection documents Japanese dentistry in the 1930s to 1951 through photographs and includes publications about the practice of dentistry and dental education in Japan, many of which were produced prior to the trip.
