Abstract:: This collection includes articles, manuscripts, and correspondence relating to his publications as well as syllabi, lecture notes and student papers from his teaching at Lehigh. Extensive material from his work on the following authors: Carlyle, Arnold, Hawthorne, Poe, James, Melville, Whitman, and Emerson. Material on other 19th century authors and on the Romantic period is also included.

Abstract:: The Philip I. and Muriel M. Berman Papers: Collection I contains records ranging in date from 1915 to 1999, the earliest dated item being apparently a letter from the painter Walter Elmer Schofield (Box 76 Folder 3). Most of the records belong to the period 1960-1997.

Conrad J. and Marian Linke papers, 1938-1985 (bulk) 1917-1991 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Conrad Linke was a German-American illustrator and painter from Philadelphia. This collection documents the political and charitable activities of him and his wife, Marian Linke, during the years 1917 to 1991. Prior to World War II they were involved in the movement to maintain American neutrality. After World War II they were involved in war relief efforts for Germany through several organizations they were members of or supported. Included are personal writings, notes and drafts, correspondence, speeches, pamphlets, leaflets, clippings, business reports and ephemera from many of those organizations.

Erich Uhlenbrock papers, 1942-1985 (bulk) 1915-1991 (inclusive)

Abstract:: This collection documents the personal and charitable activities of Erich Uhlenbrock, a German-American, during the years 1915 to 1991. Throughout his life, Uhlenbrock was involved with many German-American organizations, including the Steuben Society of America. His passion was for singing and he was very involved in a number of singing groups in Philadelphia and the region, including the Liedertafel-Saengerbund, the Vereinigte Sänger von Philadelphia, and the Nordöstlicher Sängerbund. Included are biographical information, business records, correspondence, photographs, clippings, pamphlets, and ephemera from many of these organizations. Uhlenbrock was also friends with the Philadelphia painter and illustrator Conrad J. Linke, and the collection contains sketches for two of Linke's historical paintings.

Abstract:: This collection includes material related to the lives and work of Helen (1901-1985), Ira (1908-1997), and Michael Wolfert (1936-2001). It contains correspondence between the family and others; manuscripts by all three subjects, as well as others; financial documents; personal documents; photos taken by and of the family; newspaper clippings collected by Helen and Ira; and notes and miscellanea from all three subjects.

Ann Parr collection of material relating to Geddes Mumford, 1943-1998 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Geddes Mumford (1925-1944) was the son of Lewis and Sophia Mumford and a World War II soldier who was killed in action. In the years before his death, he was romantically involved with Ann Louise Kessinger Parr, who collected and saved material relating to Geddes's service, death, and memory.

Abstract:: Ted Weems (1901-1963) was a musician, an American bandleader, and the director of the Ted Weems Orchestra. He gained national renown for several hits, including "Somebody Stole My Gal," "Piccolo Pete," and "Heartaches." This collection documents the professional musical career of Weems with scores, sheet music, and song sheets; photographs and images; scrapbooks; and recordings. There is limited family and personal material; and in general, this collection shows Weems's public persona rather than the private man.

Abstract:: Phyllis Perchick (1932-2018), the daughter of Jewish Russian immigrants, was raised in Philadelphia and attended public schools, including the Joseph Leidy School and Overbrook High School. This collection consists of material largely relating to Phyllis Perchick's childhood and education and her reactions to the tumultuous political world of the 1940s and 1950s, including newsletters, diplomas, newspaper clippings, and scrapbooks.

Lemuel R. Boulware papers, circa 1917-1990 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Lemuel R. Boulware was a leading figure in industrial relations in America during the 1940's and 1950's. As vice-president of General Electric Company with responsibility for public and employee relations, he developed an approach to labor relations that came to be called "Boulwarism." He was also a noted author and lecturer. His papers comprise correspondence, speeches, articles, memos, employee relations materials, photographs, clippings, etc.
