- Abstract:
- W. Robert Swartz was a local historian and a photographer who owned a photography shop on Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore for most of the second half of the twentieth century. The W. Robert Swartz Photography Collection, 1890-1996, largely consists of photograph negatives taken by Swartz, but it also includes some images dating from the turn of the twentieth century collected by Howard G. Kurtz and H. Parker Rolfe. The photographs are centered in Lower Merion Township and surrounding regions, and depict local landmarks, sports teams, events, accidents and natural disasters, covered bridges, and the Swartz family.
