Abstract:
Art for World Friendship originated in 1946 as a project undertaken by the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. It was the first organization to exchange child art on an international level and was entirely run by volunteers.

Dorothy H. Hutchinson Papers, 1942-1980 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Dorothy Hewitt Hutchinson (l905-l984) began to gain influence in the peace movement when her pamphlet A Call to Peace Now was printed by the Friends in l943. That summer, Hutchinson and a small group of people started the Peace Now Movement, using her pamphlet to rally support for the principle of a negotiated settlement rather than unconditional surrender of the Axis powers. This group included George W. Hartmann, a psychology professor at Columbia, and John Collett. Hutchinson also worked to promote the United Nations and helped organize a local chapter of the United World Federalists Hutchinson was active in the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom and became president of the U.S. Section of WILPF in l96l, serving until l965. She then served as chairman of International WILPF from l965 until l968. Hutchinson was an activist in civil rights and civil liberties as well as in the peace movement.

Ann Morrissett Davidon and William C. Davidon Papers, 1949- (inclusive)

Abstract:
Ann Morrissett Davidon (1925-2004), was a writer, editor, educator, pacifist and peace activist through her entire life. William Cooper Davidon(1927- 2013), was a professor of physics at Haverford College and (retired 1994), pacifist, peace activist. The two were married in 1963 and both continued to be very active in peace, pacifist, anti-Vietnam War, and social justice organizations. They advocated and practiced war-tax resistance. In 1971, William Davidon was named an "unindicted co-conspirator" in a plot to kidnap Henry Kissenger. Ann Davidon remained active in peace issues for her entire life.

Heloise Brainerd Collected Papers, 1900-1971 (inclusive)

Abstract:
Heloise Brainerd was connected with the Pan American Union in Washington, D.C. from 1909 to 1935. In 1935 Brainerd became the chair of the Committee on the Americas, and chair of the Division of Inter-American Work, for the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom. Brainerd's goal was to draw women from Latin America into the peace movement, and to do this she traveled widely in the Americas. Brainerd was made Honorary Vice President of the U.S. Section of the WILPF in 1954.

The Committee for World Development and World Disarmament was established in 1950 as a non-political, non-partisan, educational organization to provide a forum for information about world disarmament and world economic development. It was first initiated by the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (U.S. Section), as a project of the Jane Addams Peace Association; headquartered in New York, N.Y. The CWDWD ceased operations in 1970.

Helen Kusman was active in the peace movement from the 1950s through the 1980s, and worked on many issues. She served as the chairman of the New York Metropolitan Branch of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF), from 1970 to 1974. From 1973 to 1979 she served as Vice-President of the National Executive Board, representing the Northeast Region of the WILPF.

Milada Marsalka was a member of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, U.S. Section, active with the New Haven, Connecticut Branch. Marsalka worked for American-Soviet friendship and conversion of economy from military to civilian production. She was born in Czechoslovakia and later moved to the United States. Marsalka died in 1999 or 2000.
