Abstract:

Mabel Detweiler (1917-2005) was active in local Republican Party politics, particularly with the Eastern Montgomery Council of Republican Women for which she served as president from 1970 to 1973. She resided in Noble, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The Mabel Detweiler files, 1958-1998, consist of campaign literature, circulars, programs, newsletters, clippings, and other ephemera relating to State and local elections, with some meeting notes and correspondence during the 1970-1973 period. The collection also includes some papers from Mabel's husband Russell's term as Abington Township Commissioner.
