Abstract:: Wilmer J. Young (1887-1983), a Quaker teacher and peace activist born in Iowa, was involved in post World War I reconstruction in France and Poland. He married Mildred Binns in 1922, and together they worked with AFSC work camps and cooperative farms until he began to teach at Pendle Hill in 1955. This collection of photographs documents their work and personal life.

Abstract:: The scrapbook of Josiah P. Marvel includes Nazi documents, such as certificates and letters, from Marvel's time in occupied France during the summer of 1940, while travelling to and from Paris in service to the American Friends Service Committee. Documents include permissions from Nazi commanders in France, as well as The Hague and Brussels. Also included is a map of the location of prison camps, clothing lists, and a printed booklet on the National Work for Infants.

Kaltenbach to his parents, Edward C. and Ethel Kaltenbach, from Wesleyan University, Yale Divinity School, and while working as the acting director for the Scattergood Hostel for European Refugees in Iowa. Also a small number of letters from his sister, Linda Kaltenbach, while a student at Swarthmore College.
