The scrapbook, which primarily covers the years 1927-1931, consists of newspaper clippings, photographs, and personal memorabilia. Sadie Bell research notes, 1925-1930 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Sadie Bell was a member of the class of 1912. She earned her A.B. in 1912 and her M.A. in 1913. In 1929, she received a Ph.D. in education from the University of Pennsylvania. She then went on to teach high school and junior high classes in Welch, West Virginia. The Sadie Bell research notes houses Bell's 1930 Ph.D. dissertation, entitled The Church, the State, and Education in Virginia.

Daniel Branch collection, 1758-1828 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Daniel Branch was a young man from Connecticut who had enlisted in the provincial army (American), which served mostly in a support capacity for the British regulars. Setting out for Lake George on June 7th, 1758, he arrived there some three weeks later,a nd was present at the disastrous British attack on Fort Ticonderoga on July 8th. Thereafter, he spent the remainder of his enlistment on the eastern shore of Lake George. The Branch diary and Branch family correspondence houses personal materials related to Daniel Branch and his family. The collection, which ranges from 1758-1828, provides information into the personal experience of a soldier in the French and Indian wars, as well as the life of the Branch family in Connecticut and Vermont.

Helen Calder Robertson letters, 1913-1916 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Helen Calder Robertson (1894-1982) was a member of the Class of 1916 who took her A.B. in French and Modern History. The Helen C. Robertson letters contain the personal correspondence of Helen Robertson. The collection, which ranges from 1913-1916, primarily consists of Robertson's correspondence during her time at Bryn Mawr. These letters were donated to the Archives by Margaret Gilman McKenna, A.B. 1942, whose mother, Margaret Williams Gilman, A.B. 1914, was a close friend of Robertson's.

Louise Congdon (Balmer) scrapbook, 1904-1908 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Louise Congdon spent her freshman year at Northwestern University, and graduated from Bryn Mawr wtih mahors in both French and Latin. She later moved to La Jolla, California, and in 1926 founded what is now La Jolla County Day School. The Louise Congdon scrapbook houses the Congdon's college scrapbook. The scrapbook covers the years 1904-1908, and contains characteristic Bryn Mawr memorabilia: programs, invitations, BMC-related clippings, some SGA-related materials, etc.

Rebecca Fordyce (Gayton) scrapbook, 1912-1916 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Rebecca Fordyce Gayton attended Bryn Mawr from 1912-1916. She received her AB in Psychology and Politics and Economics. She died in 1964. The Rebecca Fordyce (Gayton) scrapbook contains Fordyce's scrapbook. The scrapbook details Fordyce's years at Bryn Mawr, from 1912 to 1916, with the bulk of the material being from 1912 to 1913.

Jessie Gilroy (Warneke) scrapbook, volume 1: 1906-1910 volume 2: 1908-1910 (inclusive)

Abstract:: Jessie Gilroy majored in French and Greek, graduating from Bryn Mawr in 1909. She was a painter, and exhibited in several galleries throughout the United States. In 1927, she married the esteemed sculptor Heinz Warneke. She died in 1982. The Jessie Gilroy scrapbook houses Gilroy's two-volume scrapbook. Volume 1 consists of material from 1906-1910, is primarily photographs, while Volume 2 consists of material from 1908-1910, and contains a great deal of personal memorabilia.
