Abstract:
Joseph and Yehudit Shadur were pioneers of Jewish folk art and the subject of Middle Eastern studies and environmental conservation in Israel. Their collection includes two series, one of the writings, correspondence, book reviews, and research by Joseph Shadur, and the other, published works by or about Yehudit Shadur, or containing images of her paper-cuts. These documents date from 1894 to 2002, with the majority of the documents produced from 1960 to 2002.

This collection contains 113 postcards, largely documenting cities in France. For the most part, these postcards appear to be aimed at tourists, showing art, architecture (interior and exterior), memorials, landscapes, streets, and tourist attractions. There are also a few postcards of Il Monte Carmelo (Mount Carmel) in Israel, a Holy Land site; Napoli in Italy; and the Museum of Jewish Ceremonial Objects at the Jewish Theological Seminary of America, New York City.

This collection of hand written notes, photographs, postcards and publications, details the cruise George Morehouse (1854-1931) embarked on through the Mediterranean and the Middle East. Sailing from New York on January 10, 1929, this 46 day cruise aboard the S.S. Adriatic made ports of call in Madeira, Gibraltar, Algiers, Monte Carlo, Naples, Athens, Constantinople, the Holy Land and Egypt.
