Overview and metadata sections

This collection consists of various three-dimensional objects associated with Swarthmore College. It includes a large number of textiles, including penants, banners (especially for alumni classes), varsity jackets, headware from first-year "dink" beanies to graduation caps, and t-shirts. There are also awards, trophies, and medals, for athletics and other achievements, as well as building plaques. A large number of commemorative items, including a set of Wedgewood plates from the college's centennial in 1964, are also included.

There are items associated with student groups, including KWINK (managers of the men's athletic teams), SQU (Swarthmore Queer Union), Chess Club, and Sixteen Feet (acapella singers).

Items associated with particular individuals include Swarthmore College President Edward H. Magill's ear horn, Swarthmore College President Frank Ayedelotte's suitcase (trunk), dean Elizabeth Powell Bond's cameo, and U.S. President Woodrow Wilson's fountain pen from hist 1913 visit to campus.

There are handicrafts created by students, including a model of Parrish Hall crafted from plastic flatware, created as a part of a class on environmental sustainability in the 2020s; and a "Quaker matchbox" diorama, created for a marriage of two recent alumni in the 1940s.

In 2019, the Friends Historical Library's and College's "Relics" collections were re-inventoried, with an update to descriptive information and photographs taken of most objects. In 2025, collection data was migrated to the TriCollege Art & Artifact database (TriArte, https://triarte.brynmawr.edu/).
