Overview and metadata sections

Mary Albertson was born in 1895 and earned a Ph.D. from Bryn Mawr College. She joined the Swarthmore faculty in 1927 and served as chairman of the History Department from 1942 until her retirement in 1963. She died in May 1986.

The collection contains extensive notes on British royal castles in the 13th and 14th centuries, along with bibliographical information.

The collection is contained in one box.

Albertson's organizational system has been preserved; her cards are sorted alphabetically according to topics such as "Keepers," "Indentures," etc.
