A photograph album created by a unnamed English woman on her trip through the Vale of Kashmir in 1932. The album contains 314 black-and-white photographs ranging in size from 1 1/2 x 1 3/4 inches to 5 1/4 x 4 inches. The photographs were taken along the route through the Vale of Kashmir in India and Pakistan. Images consist of animals, boats, bodies of water, daily life of local people, bridges, buildings, huts, mountains, passages, roads and valleys. Particular images of some photographs include house boats, pottery production, the Banihal Pass, a traveler crossing a rope bridge over Jhelum River, the Jammu Bridge, spear fishing, a vegetable market in Rainawari, a ski clubhouse in Khilanmarg, and shikaras on the Dal Lake. An photograph of a woman traveling on horseback from Tangmarg to Glumarg in the Baramulla District was probably the creator of the album. The photographs have captions in white ink. Most of the images are enumerated, but not chronologically. The title is written on the cover of the album.
