Overview and metadata sections
Wolfe was the curator of books and manuscripts at the Francis A. Countway Library of Medicine, Harvard University and the Joseph Garland LIbrarian of the Boston Medical Library. Wolfe has published works on music, medicine, and the history of marbled paper and bookbinding.
Comprises a large flat box decorated with marbled paper consisting of 104 sheets of hand-made marbled paper designed and created by Wolfe. Each sheet measures 20 x 16 inches, is numbered 1 to 104 and stamped "Hand marbled by Richard J. Wolfe" on the verso. The marbled paper sheets provide a large variety of patterns and color combinations. In a letter to Richard De Gennaro of the Penn Libraries affixed to the first sheet Wolfe states "these sheets are intended to show the vast possibilities of this medium."
