Overview and metadata sections
T. K. Glazebrook was the founder of Orford Lane Glassworks and appears to have lived in Warrington, England. He was an author with his first work, First eclogue of Virgil, translated into English verse, published in 1807. He published a few other volumes as well as occasional songs and poetical effusions.
This notebook contains Glazebrook's own translation of First eclogue of Virgil, which was published in 1807 (p. 3-19), lists of books (p. 21-48), lists of musical instruments (p. 49-51), and a text in what appears to be partly code or shorthand (p. 54-66). Book lists document books loaned out (to whom, when, and crossed out, presumably, when returned); books sent off for binding; and books sent to London, either for sale, return, or binding. The notebook as a limp stab stitched pamphlet binding and is written on both ends. Many pages within the notebook are detached.
Sold by Ian Marr Rare Books (Liskeard, England), 2019.
