Overview and metadata sections
Carrie Alma Curtis was born on July 29, 1868 in North Canaan. She continued to live in Canaan, Connecticut during the 1920s. Carrie Curtis died on July 23, 1951 in North Canaan, Litchfield, Connecticut.
Carrie Alma Curtis' diary spans one year from 1928-1929 and highlights her daily experiences and thoughts. Daily entries often begin with a description of the weather that day, "Jan 19 cold...Jan 21 mild" (p. 7), "wed May 2nd windy, but fair" (p.40), "Mo. Sept 24th 192, cloudy" (p. 80). Throughout the pages Curtis notes her day to day activities from attending church, writing to her girls, and her mending, sewing projects. Towards the end of the diary, entries become more succinct and printing tightens as it appears she ran out of pages.
