They include botany, England relations, exploration, France, history, Jesuit relations, Native Americans, North America, politics, topography, and voyages. Two leaves of clippings regarding ecclesiastical appointments and changes in Montréal and Québec, dated October 7, 1882 are laid in the volume. One printed leaf entitled: Quebec and its historic past is a summary of remarks from the conference of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, held August 1882.
