Overview and metadata sections
The Office of Vice President for Coordinated Planning was established by the Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania to oversee implementation of the 1962 Integrated Development Plan. The first and only person to be appointed to this position was John Cummings Hetherston, who served until 1971, at which time he was promoted to the new and expanded role of Vice President for Facilities Management and Construction. In his role as Vice President for Coordinated Planning, Hetherston had overall responsibility for the planning and development of the University's facilities and real estate. During his tenure, the University completed 64 new construction and major renovation projects, with a combined cost of over $150 million.
This collection is a series of reports, studies, and project plans, for both proposed and implemented construction projects at the University of Pennsylvania. These publications are written by a mix of outside engineering or architectural firms, as well as by the Office of the Vice President for Coordinated Planning.
This collection is arranged chronologically.
