Overview and metadata sections
Pia Candinas, a Temple University Rome Campus librarian for 38 years, curated art and cultural events highlighting Italian artists. She created programs that highlighted art and artists from Italy and facilitated discussion on how art and politics often influence each other. The materials in this collection are from the Pia Candinas archive.
The collection includes photographs, audio and visual recordings, pamphlets and promotional material from events related to Temple University Rome's "Art and Culture in Italy" Lecture Series. "Art and Culture in Italy" programming included lecture series, cultural events and exhibitions curated by cultural liaison and Temple University Rome librarian Pia Candinas from 1991-2011. The lecture series provided unique opportunities to engage with Italian artists, authors, and filmmakers.
