George Richardson, captain of the Mary Bonadventure, was apparently one of the independent traders competing with the West African trading company established by Charles I in 1631.
A signed, handwritten agreement between George Richardson and Richard Parr, a London merchant, for a venture to Guinea. Henry Brandreth, a clothworker, is to receive a share in the venture for furnishing an armed vessel, the Ralph, to accompany the Mary Bonadventure.
