Overview and metadata sections

A codex in Italian copied by the scribe Ludovico Bertini of "Tracta di mercantie et usanze di paesi" first published in Florence in 1481, as a compendium of information for the 15th century merchant; including a method for finding out what day of the week a given month begins in a given year, and information for converting weights, measures, and money. The body of the text follows closely the version printed in Paciola's "Summa de Arithmetica." The manuscript contains 195 chapters whereas the printed versions contain only 194 chapters.
