Overview and metadata sections
The collection consists of legal briefs, correspondence, juror lists, summons, printed arguments, and related documents for cases handled by Moses Dropsie in the Orphans' Court and Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County. Cases are primarily related to estates, but also small claims, bankruptcy, and breach of contract. There are a few cases handled by other attorneys including Mayer Sulzberger and some that post-date Dropsie's death.
Donated by Edwin Wolf in March 1984, Maurice H. Orodenker in July 1984, and the Balch Institute in November 1986. Collection previously administered by the Philadelphia Jewish Archives Center, acquired by Temple in June 2009.
