Overview and metadata sections

This manuscript is a ledger tracking money owed and paid in the years 1493-1507. The individual or family recording the transactions was probably located in or around Florence; family names of individuals involved include Zanobi, Ginori, Ruspoli, Mariotto, and Arrighini, and occupations recorded include barber, notary, merchant (rivenditore), silk worker (setaiolo), and wool worker (lanaiolo).

Original foliation in ink, upper right recto; a nearly contemporary hand has numbered most versos (until fol. 134r) to match their facing rectos so that both pages of an opening have the same number.

Debts and credits of an individual face each other in each opening (fols. 2r-134r); each page ruled for a wide column in the center with three narrow columns on the right for amounts of transactions; verticals ruled in lead.

Mercantesca, multiple hands.
