Overview and metadata sections

Edward Bellamy was born in Massachusetts and was working as a journalist in 1888 when he published his most famous work"Looking Backward: 2000-1887" a popular utopian romance. Bellamy devoted his life to promoting the ideas of non-revolutionary socialist reform through the Nationalist Party and his journal, THE NEW NATION. In 1897 Bellamy penned a theoretical sequel to "Looking Backward" entitled "Equality."

Correspondence from prominent American writer and utopian philosopher Bellamy to English artist Henry Holiday, concerning socialism and the Nationalist Party Movement, founded upon the principles of state capitalism. The correspondence also includes a letter from the writer's wife, Emma S. Bellamy, to Henry Holiday on the death of her husband.
