Overview and metadata sections
William Hall, a prominent Philadelphia printer, performed work for Ben Franklin in his partnership with Sellers, such as printing for the Continental Congress and the Pennsylvania Gazette.
This small collection of correspondence of this prominent early 19th century printer also includes a draft of his will, a notice of the dissolution of Hall's partnership with Sellers, and a memorial addressed to the Continental Congress for a printing debt. Much of the correspondence is written to Hall from his cousin Joseph Leacock, describing drought, famine, and education in Barbados.
Purchased from Harris Auctions via MacManus, June 15, 1976.
