Towamencin Township is a suburb of Philadelphia located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. The first European settlers, of German, Welsh, and Dutch descent, settled there around the turn of the 18th century, and were primarily engaged in farming. The township received its charter from William Penn's Commissioners in 1734. During the Revolutionary War, Towamencin played an important role in supporting the troops during and after the Battle of Germantown. General Washington established quarters and conducted military duties from the home of Frederick Wampole, and the Mennonite Meeting House was used a hospital and place of respite for soldiers retreating from the battle.

This collection includes photographs from class graduations at local schools and several commencement invitations, 1884-1929; spelling workbooks, 1888; land deeds, 1854 and 1887; and a photograph album of the Griffiths-Snyder house, circa 1970s. There are also some newspaper clippings, "A Survey of the Kulpsville Methodist Cemetery" created in April 2007, and reproductions of some pages of an Elizabeth Arneth scrapbook on Fischer Park.
The strongest part of the collection is the class photographs, which complement other class photographs in the Welsh Valley Preservation Society local history collection. Many individuals in the class photographs in this collection are identified.
When the Historical Society of Towamencin folded in 2010, their archival holdings were transferred to the Welsh Valley Preservation Society.
