Wilson D. Puhl was born in 1906 and died in 1977. His wife was Anna M. Puhl. Wilson D. Puhl worked as tax collector for Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania.
This collection is comprised of records Puhl created in his work as tax collector for Lower Pottsgrove Township, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. At the core of the collection is a set of alphabetically-arranged tax ledgers for road, county and personal, and school taxes. There are also numerous receipts for collected road, county and personal, and school taxes. There are collector's notices to taxable residents, land valuations, and check stubs. Miscellaneous correspondence, documents, financial records, and forms relating to Wilson's tax collection include yearly reports to the Department of Internal Affairs, Harrisburg, and a list of liens against taxpayers.

Summary descriptive information on this collection was compiled in 2011-2012 as part of a pilot project conducted by the Historical Society of Pennsylvania to make better known and more accessible the largely hidden collections of small, primarily volunteer run repositories in the Philadelphia area. The Hidden Collections Initiative for Pennsylvania Small Archival Repositories (HCI-PSAR) was funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
This is a preliminary finding aid. No physical processing, rehousing, reorganizing, or folder listing was accomplished during the HCI-PSAR project.
