Abstract:
The railroad and trolley lines that have existed throughout the history of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania have allowed for the transport of goods as well as commuters. The companies represented in this collection were the predecessors of the current public transit system that is in place. The Chestnut Hill Historical Society railroad and trolley collection, 1896-1939, contains records from the Hillcrest Avenue Passenger Railway Company as well as secondary materials from other railroad and trolley companies.

This collection is comprised of records of the Hillcrest Avenue Passenger Railroad Company as well as secondary materials related to other railroad and trolley companies that once operated in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area.
