Lloyd Wells was the co-owner of Hill Hardware. He founded with others the Chestnut Hill Development Group, was president of the Chestnut Hill Community Association, the Chestnut Hill Realty Trust, and more.
The Lloyd Wells collection contains papers relating to various Chestnut Hill groups with which Wells was associated, including the Chestnut Hill Hospital, Chestnut Hill Realty Trust, Chestnut Hill Community Association, and the Chestnut Hill Historical Society, and other community development related organizations. The collection includes correspondence, meeting minutes, and reports relating to his involvement in each organization.

Summary descriptive information on this collection was compiled in 2011-2012 as part of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania’s Hidden Collections Initiative for Pennsylvania Small Archival Repositories (HCI-PSAR), using data provided by the Chestnut Hill Historical Society. The HCI-PSAR project was funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
This is a preliminary finding aid. No physical processing, rehousing, reorganizing, or folder listing was done in the HCI-PSAR project.
