Abstract:
Cecilia Sewell (1904-1993) and Margaret Sewell (1905-1987) were residents of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The scrapbook of the European travels of Cecillia and Margaret Sewell, 1934-1938, are comprised of materials relating to their travels to England, Scotland, France, Germany, Switzerland, and Hungary.

Margaret Sewell (1905-1987) and Cecilia Sewell (1904-1993) were residents of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The scrapbook of the European travels of Cecillia and Margaret Sewell, 1934-1938, comprises approximately 20 pages of postcards, travel brochures, theater programs, steamer passenger lists, etc. from England, Scotland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary. The materials, which were collected by the Sewells in the 1930s, were bought by Lloyd Minter and assembled in the album in 1991.

Summary descriptive information on this collection was compiled in 2011-2012 as part of the Historical Society of Pennsylvania’s Hidden Collections Initiative for Pennsylvania Small Archival Repositories (HCI-PSAR), using data provided by the Chestnut Hill Historical Society. The HCI-PSAR project was funded by a grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
