AACC was formed in New York City in 1949 to further the development of clinical chemistry as a specialty and to improve both the practice of the profession and the status of its members.

The collection contains early publicity and membership materials, including a Members Directory from 1950, the first full year of the associations existence and a 1966 copy of the revised Constitution and By-Laws. It also contains correspondance to and from the society related to Charles H. Wabnitz and his application to join the society.

This is a collection of materials related the process of attaining membershop to the American Association of Clinical Chemists by Charles H. Wabnitz. It also contains publications relating to the founding and early years of the American Association of Clinical Chemists (AACC).
