Arthur Fenner Brown Jr. served in United States Air Force around 1948. In the course of his military service, he attended the United States Air Force Radar School at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Notebook contains lecture notes kept by Arthur Fenner Brown Jr. while attending the United States Air Force Radar School. The notes are written in pencil and contain technical information regarding United States Air Force radar technology. A small amount of graffiti by Brown, including "Kilroy was Here" drawings, are in this notebook as well.
