Overview and metadata sections
Roaring Creek Monthly Meeting was established in 1814 by Philadelphia Quarterly Meeting out of Muncy Monthly Meeting, after having functioned as a preparative meeting of Catawissa Monthly Meeting from 1796 to 1808, when Catawissa merged with Muncy. Two branches of this meeting were formed after the Hicksite Separation of 1827. The Orthodox branch was discontinued in 1829. Roaring Creek Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) was discontinued in 1917.
Records of the Hicksite Monthly Meeting and its predecessor, the pre-Separation Meeting, 1790-1917. Included are: minutes, 1814-1917; births and burials, 1790-1901; marriages, 1826-1905; removals issued, 1816-1882; rough women's minutes, 1820-1883; rough men's minutes, 1814-1848; burial records, 1855 & n.d.
