It is a description of archival material held at the Quaker Meeting Records at Haverford College Quaker & Special Collections and Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. Overview and metadata sections
Norristown Monthly Meeting was established in 1936 by Abington Quarterly Meeting (Hicksite) out of Norristown Preparative Meeting at the dissolution of the first Gwynedd Monthly Meeting (Hicksite). It became a united meeting in 1953 by affiliation with the two Abington Quarterly Meetings. Norristown is currently an active monthly meeting
Collection includes: minutes of the Business Meeting, 1936-2021 (including 1936 records of Norristown Preparative Meeting). Minutes of the Annual Meeting of the Corporation and Board of Trustees minutes, 1962-2005, along with other legal and financial papers (including incorporation files related to Norristown Monthly and Preparative Meetings). Other records include an index of marriages, financial and property records (including relating to Providence Meeting House and Norristown Preparative Meeting), and a newsletter, Friendly Notes.
The records of Norristown Monthly Meeting also include some records of its predecessor, Norristown Preparative Meeting, which was under care of Gwynedd Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) and Abington Quarterly Meeting. Bulk of records related to Norristown Preparative Meeting are described separately in QM-Ph-N620.

Collection Inventory
Volume entitled Index to Marriage Records In Book No.2, of which the first part is a copy of the same in the records of Gwynedd Monthly Meeting, 1780-1917, and then continues as an index of the marriages of the members of Norristown. Folder also includes a computer printout continuing the index to 2005.

They also include reports to the monthly meeting for business from various committees (Finance, Oversight, Social Concerns, etc.), treasurer's reports, State of the Meeting reports, annual Board of Trustee reports, membership and memorial minutes, Recorder reports on meeting members, occasional correspondence, and other clerk's files.
