Overview and metadata sections
An indulged meeting at Newtown was established under Middletown Monthly Meeting and Wrightstown Monthly Meeting in 1815. The meeting for worship and preparative meeting were established by Bucks Quarterly Meeting under Wrightstown Monthly Meeting in 1817 and transferred to Makefield Monthly Meeting in 1820.
In 1827, the Orthodox branch of this preparative meeting merged with Makefield and Newtown Preparative Meeting; it was discontinued the same year. Newtown Meeting was laid down in 1828.
Newtown Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) became part of Newtown Monthly Meeting in 1926; it merged into the Monthly Meeting in 1940.
