This is a finding aid. It is a description of archival material held at the Quaker Meeting Records at Haverford College Quaker & Special Collections and Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. Overview and metadata sections
An indulged meeting for worship was established by New Garden Monthly Meeting in 1792. Care of this meeting was transferred to London Grove in 1795. A meeting for worship at Fallowfield was established by Western Quarterly Meeting in 1795, and the preparative meeting in 1796. In 1796, the preparative meeting and meeting for worship were transferred to Fallowfield Monthly Meeting. Two meetings emerged at the time of the Separation of 1827.
Fallowfield Preparative Meeting (Orthodox) was transferred to London Grove Monthly Meeting in 1838 and was discontinued in 1891.
Fallowfield Preparative Meeting (Hicksite) was absorbed by Fallowfield Monthly Meeting in 1936.
Records of Fallowfield Preparative Meeting (Hicksite), 1797-1936, as follows: Minutes of the men's meeting and joint sessions, 1848-1936; women's meeting minutes, 1797-1806 and 1823-1893; membership lists, ca. 1805, [190-?], 1910; treasurer's accounts, 1895-1907. Records of Fallowfield Preparative Meeting (Orthodox) include: men's meeting minutes, 1827-1891; women's meeting minutes, 1847-1883; membership, 1858-1884; account books, 1890-1895.
