It is a description of archival material held at the Quaker Meeting Records at Haverford College Quaker & Special Collections and Friends Historical Library of Swarthmore College. Overview and metadata sections
Cecil Monthly Meeting was established in 1698 out of Third Haven Monthly Meeting. The Orthodox meeting was discontinued in 1928. Cecil Monthly Meeting (Hicksite) became inactive around 1899. In 1941, a "revived meeting" named Cecil Monthly Meeting was established to care for the property & transfer the title to Third Haven Monthly Meeting; this body met primarily in Swarthmore, Pa., and ceased activity in 1952 after its objectives were attained.
Records, pre-Separation and Hicksite, include: minutes, 1698-1899 & 1941-1952; women's meeting minutes, 1765-1848; births & deaths, 1678-1839 and 1751-1851; marriage records, 1698-1784 and 1785-1851; removals issued, 1800-1847; acknowledgements, 1768-1776; disownments, 1767-1777; property records, 1941-1952; History, ca. 1942.
