Overview and metadata sections

Quakers in the greater Richmond area began meeting for worship separate from Richmond Monthly Meeting in 1987, in part because of overcrowding at the Richmond Friends Meetinghouse. Under the care of Richmond Monthly Meeting, Midlothian Indulged Meeting was established. Midlothian became a preparative meeting in 1989 and was set off as a monthly meeting in 1995. A dedicated meeting house was purchased in 2002. The meeting is active.

Electronic meeting records of Midlothian Friends Meeting, 2010-2020. Records include minutes of meeting for business and state of the meeting reports.

Special minutes, including those related to BYM finances, climate change, and religious freedom, are also included but are not all dated.

Scope and Contents

In August 2017, Midlothian Friends Meeting determined to use "Meeting for Discernment" instead of "Meeting for Worship with a Concern for Business." Earlier years' records are under the prior title.

RG2/B/M53 1.1. Minutes (digital), 2010-2020.
Scope and Contents

Meeting has combined each year's minutes into a single PDF file. Some years, the file includes additional material like treasurer's reports, committee lists, and state of the meeting reports. Arrangement of the file varies by year, some months lacking.

RG2/B/M53 1.2. Recorded Minutes (digital), circa 2010-2020 (most undated).
Scope and Contents

In a 2020 electronic records deposit the meeting included a folder of "Recorded Minutes" that include 7 PDFs of special minutes. They cover a variety of topics of concern to the meeting, including earth stewardship, financial apportionment to Baltimore Yearly Meeting, and religious freedom. Most are undated.

RG2/B/M53 2.1. State of the Meeting reports (digital), 2011-2018.
Scope and Contents

Spiritual State of the Meeting reports are largely unsigned, with 2011's signed by the Spiritual Nurture Committee. There is no report for 2012. The 2018 report is a draft.
