Overview and metadata sections
The first declaration of November 1st as Worldwide Peace Day was in 1963 in Washington, D.C. It was sponsored by Jerome Frank, Frederick J. Libby, and Sen. Ernest Gruening. The organization was almost dormant during the Vietnamese Conflict. Peace Day activities included forums, panels, rallies, vigils, etc.
