Overview and metadata sections

First proposed in 1924, the World Conference met in Paris in 1928, when it elected an Executive Committee. It met in Frankfort in 1929. The purpose of the Conference was to convene representatives of all the world's religions to discuss ways and means for promoting world peace. As late as 1937 a conference was held in Geneva. Conferences held before 1930 were called the Universal Religious Peace Conferences.
