Overview and metadata sections

The Research Exchange was organized in September 1952 by a group of social scientists who believed that research can contribute to the prevention of war. The group's primary purpose was to provide communication, via its bi-monthly publication, The Bulletin, among individuals of all social science disciplines. Meetings, symposia, and summer workshops were conducted to foster collaboration in research projects. Arthur Gladstone of Swarthmore College's Psychology Dept. was a leader of the Research Exchange. Financial difficulties appear to have caused the Bulletin's demise.

The Swarthmore College Peace Collection is not the official repository for the records of this organization.
