Hartford Vigil of Conscience for Peace in Viet Nam; sometimes called Hartford Vigil for Peace in Viet Nam; conceived in 1966 by members of the Hartford Monthly Meeting of Friends (Quakers) located in West Hartford, Connecticut; a weekly vigil of witness against the Vietnam War was held at the old State House on Main Street in Hartford, Conn. on Wednesdays between noon and 1 pm from November 1966 to January 1973.
