Overview and metadata sections

The American Peace Terms Committee grew out of Philadelphia-area activity in the Peace Now Movement. Members were generally from the Quaker community and included Walter Longstreth, Emily Longstreth, Sophia Dulles, Dorothy Hutchinson, Allen Olsted, Sarah Cleghorn, and Ellen Starr Brinton. The committee's activities included printing and distributing a leaflet series. Based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The immediate source of acquisition for the records accessioned pre-1965 is unknown. On July 28, 1965, additional records were donated by Walter C. Longstreth (acc. 65-82).
