Overview and metadata sections
This microfilm contains materials published by Cuban Christian organizations which either have an ecumenical focus or for which no denominational affiliation can be identified. Most of the material consists of newsletters, small religious tracts, and educational materials, such as series of biblical lessons or books of hymns. Some organizations have changed names over time, and this has been noted, where possible. A good example of this is the Consejo Ecuménico de Cuba, which became the Consejo de Iglesias de Cuba (CIC) in 1995.
The CIC materials in this microfilm include a series of agricultural tracts published by the organization's Departamento de Coordinación y Asesoría de Proyectos (DECAP). While these publications are not religious in nature, they provide an indication of the scope of activities of the publishing organization. The Celebración Ecumenica de Cuba, which took place between May and June of 1999, was another initiative of the CIC, though many different Cuban religious organizations, both denominational and non-denominational, took part.
