Roy Pedersen is an art gallery owner from Lambertville, NJ.
Longchamp, GastonGaston Longchamp (1894-1986) was an American painter who grew up in France socializing with Impressionist painters. He also worked as a scenery painter in France and New York, including for such performances as George Balanchine's "Serenade" and Stravinsky's "Firebird."
Consists of correspondence, ephemera, and other manuscripts relating to the life of artist Gaston Longchamp. The correspondence is addressed to Gaston Longchamp (previously named Fernand Morisset) and various people in his life such as Alice Morisset, Ouida Foster, Roger Morisset, and Robert Perret. Other correspondents include Albert DuPont and Max Jacob. Most letters are in or alongside their original envelopes. The ephemera includes three livrets de famille that record major events in the lives of Morriset and Lefman families. There are also documents relating to the purchase of furniture and hardware. Other manuscripts include an ink drawing, a pencil drawing, poems, and essays. These materials are primarily in French with a few items in English.
The collection also has newspaper articles, handwritten notes, and other materials related to Roy Pedersen's research on Gaston Longchamp and other artists. These materials were compiled or created by Roy Pedersen, including some correspondence. This grouping is in English.
Items remain arranged in the order in which they were received.
Materials were previously owned by Jodianna Ringel, granddaughter of Gaston Longchamp.
Purchased from Roy Pedersen via Joseph J. Felcone in May 2024 (AM 2025-067).
Collection processed and described by Lauren C. Williams in March 2025, incorporating some description provided by the seller.
No materials were removed from the collection during 2025 processing.
